Contact us to book a maintenance visit for your solar PV system.

Keep your solar PV system performing at its best with our maintenance service

Professional Solar PV Maintenance

Your solar PV system is a long-term energy investment, with most PV panels having a lifespan of 25 years or more. To ensure maximum efficiency and energy savings, routine maintenance of your solar PV system is recommended. Dirt, debris and wear-and-tear can reduce PV panel efficiency by up to 25%.

At Alternative Energy we’ve been installing solar PV systems across Ireland for 15 years, and we frequently undertake repairs on systems installed by other contractors.

Benefits of routine maintenance

Removal of dirt and debris keeps panel performance high

Routine checks ensure your warranty remains valid

Expert system monitoring to spot any under-performance issues

Early detection of small repairs before they become significant

Maintenance Schedule

Monitor System Performance

Most inverters have app connectivity so you can monitor the system remotely. Ensure you’ve got any notifications turned on to check for dips in power or error messages.

Solar Panel Cleaning

Every year you should plan to clean your panels with a soft brush and water to remove dust, debris and dirt that may reduce efficiency. Also check panels for cracks or movement.

Professional Inspection

Recommended every 2 years, or after extreme weather. We’ll check all the electrical components and wiring, look for signs of wear or degradation, and ensure the mounting hardware is secure.

Thermal Imaging

We use a drone to visually inspect the panels and identify hotspots or uneven temperature distribution, helping to see any failures or areas of concern.
