Solar FAQs

County Clare receives an average of around 1307 hours of sunshine, making it a suitable location for solar panel installation. We have worked with clients throughout Clare and the surrounding areas to install solar panel solutions and we can work with you to install the perfect solar panel system for you.

Solar panels are best installed on south-facing roofs. They can also be installed on roofs that are east or west-facing in order for your solar panels to absorb sunlight. Solar panels can be installed on flat roofs but this will depend on the obstructions that are present on the roof itself. We can advise you on whether your flat roof is suitable for solar panel installation. There are other solutions such as the installation of solar panels on the ground next to your building which are a possible solution for north-facing roofs and buildings with obstructed roofs.

Solar PV panels absorb sunlight and transfer this into electricity. The only byproduct of this is heat which makes solar energy the greenest energy source on the planet available. The energy creates electrical charges when absorbed which then causes electricity to flow. Electricity is then stored or used in systems such as heating for hot water. The electricity that is generated can be used to power your building. The ability to power the whole building with solar energy depends on the size of your building, the number of solar panels you are able to install and your electricity requirements each year.

Yes, County Clare is an excellent location for solar systems. With plenty of daylight hours, the panels are able to generate enough free electricity to make a huge difference to your energy bills, while helping protect the environment for the next generation of farmers.
