If your roof is heavily shaded or north-facing, solar PV isn’t recommended. Most house roofs are capable of supporting the weight of a solar system and planning permission will be discussed before installation takes place.
You will need to make sure that the roof of your business premises sees sunlight in order to be able to fully use solar panels to power your business or provide additional energy. Your solar panels can’t face north or be in the shade but can be located at other points of the roof. The roof will also need to be able to hold a weight of 120kg to 280kg. We will work with you to assess whether solar panels are appropriate for your business premises.
